Marino Martínez
(Ancash, Perú, 1968)

Guitarist, composer, and cultural researcher. He has given concerts and masterclasses as a guitarist in cities across Europe, South America, and the USA, and has recorded several albums of popular music from the Andes and the Coast. As a composer, he won the National Prize at the 1st Claro Festival in 2008. He has published the book "Manuel Acosta Ojeda, Art and Wisdom of Criollismo" with the José María Arguedas National School of Folklore. He is the director of Yaku Taki, the Documentation Center for Traditional Peruvian Music, created for the recording and documentation of traditional Peruvian music. He is the Research Director of Caminos del Inka, Inc., based in Chicago, a non-profit organization founded and directed by Maestro Miguel Harth-Bedoya, dedicated to the performance and promotion of the music of the Americas. Marino Martinez has published documentaries and research articles on music in various media outlets in Peru and abroad. He holds a master's degree in Anthropology from the National University of San Marcos. He is currently the guitarist for Susana Baca, a prominent figure in World Music with several Grammy Awards, with whom he performs concMarierts in various countries.
